I want to share with you is a project that revolves around the idea of anonymous intimacy in public settings. Craigslist posts from 2007 to 2014, newspaper clippings spanning from 1902 to 1980, and angry Yelp reviews from 2025 are the concrete texts that form the basis of the lyrics of this work. They are fragments of lives left in public: attempts to connect, to complain, to confess, to desire. The piece tries to look beyond the (sometimes simply angry) comments and glimpse the people behind the writing—their openness, vulnerability, honesty, or whatever human impulse led them to leave these traces behind. This journey through physical and online archives is mediated through a pop music language that mirrors the use of found texts as found art, translating everyday voices into a musical landscape.
This work relates to my research on the use of found texts as a basis for composition, but also on the formal and social dimensions of compositional practice. Ultimately, it asks what it means to compose with the words of others: what motivates this gesture, what kinds of relationships it creates, and how such material can be approached with care and ethical responsibility.
